Whether we look at our professional or our personal lives, one thing holds true, life is busy and is likely to continue to be busy. It can move quickly, it can be both exciting and stressful. We may face problems to resolve and challenges to overcome. These come in myriad forms. Sometimes they relate to our goals and what we want to achieve and at other times they can relate to how we support the needs and goals of those around us. All this in a world constantly seeking our attention, the latest breaking news update, social media moment or must-have product.

Our attention is at risk of being consumed, our focus blurred and feelings of overwhelm may begin to creep in. When our mind is being guided constantly by external input or the pace of everything gets too quick and complicated, it can become hard to break free. Trying to step off the metaphorical roundabout, may be too difficult if it’s spinning too fast. It is vital that we do slow down, re-calibrate, check in with ourselves if we are to avoid burn out /overwhelm. Looking after our physical and mental states is vital for our wellbeing.

So as you step fully into 2020, take time to examine, what it is you really care about, what is really important to you. Look at your current lifestyle what is great about it, what is scary about it?  What will you do to ensure that your mind and body is continually nourished and well looked after, to enable you to achieve your dreams and live the life you want to moving forward.
